These aspiring and new entrepreneurs include Baby Boomers who are retiring and starting their own “encore career” businesses. According to a Gallup poll, as high as 83% of baby boomers are starting “encore careers.” (Business Journal, 2015) Additional research reveals that many new businesses fail because the new entrepreneur attempts to do everything himself, without help or support. Developing the skill of mindfulness is the key to being a masterful coach. Applying mindfulness to the coaching conversation increases your ability to have deeper more impactful conversations that provide greater value to your clients.

Developing mindfulness will give you a greater ability to:

Connect with the client and establish a deeper level of trust and intimacy,
Use powerful questions and clarification to create awareness,
Clarify the underlying themes or patterns in the coaching conversation,
Listen at a deeper level for the subtle nuances in the conversation,
Use intuition to create awareness,
Connect with your own style of coaching,
Communicate clearly with the client,
Feel more relaxed and confident coaching, and
Ensure the client feels truly heard at a deep level.

The unique part of this online program is that it is interactive in a small group based learning environment. We include a weekly call via zoom video conferencing with a maximum of 16 participants, so you can share your insights, challenges and receive the support of a group. Mindfulness takes time to develop and we often need someone to guide us on the journey, so this program provides that extra support through the group calls and mentoring. You also will be connecting with other participants from around the world, in between the group calls.

Included in the program:
• 9 webinars x 1.5 hours each plus optional 30 minutes group mentoring after each call
• Mindfulness practices on audio and in transcript
• Audio coaching conversations to listen to and learn from
• Workbook and reading materials to guide you through the program

Event Description:

NOTE: This course is available anytime. It’s approved for 2 CORE credits on-demand, anytime. Available for 90 days after purchase to complete.

You can have a fantastic attitude, but a positive attitude alone is not enough to guarantee long-term success. As a coach, you have to demonstrate appropriate behavior. One of the most important behaviors is to set goals, monitor and measure them, make adjustments as you go, and strive for their accomplishments. In order to be successful at this, you must know your own behavioral ratio’s.

In this 2-hour online course, you will learn on your own personal level to understand the relationship between positive behaviors and success. Behavior is the manner in which you conduct yourself. You will identify and develop personal goals and action plans based on your desires, while creating permanent self-motivation. As you learn to accept a new positive behavior towards yourself you will become a more effective and successful as a business coach.

Appropriate behavior drives opportunities. Opportunities come from setting goals. What do you want out of life or out of your coaching business? Who could determine this for you and who can make it happen? What are the daily behavior’s that you must apply to be a more effective business coach and live the life of your dreams?

This course will focus on the following:

Behavior Towards Yourself
Why Set Goals, what is in it for YOU?
Know what you want
Group, Categorize, Prioritize
Are you willing to Pay the price
S.M.A.R.T. Goals
Creating a Goal Log

Event Description:

The EQ-i 2.0® Experience

The EQ-i 2.0® Certification Program is a blended learning solution that enables participants to do parts of the program online, together with a 2-day interactive in-class component. Through completing the EQ-i 2.0® Certification Program with a CPP Asia Pacific expert facilitator, you will:

– Obtain an in-depth understanding of the instrument through first hand experience
– Learn and practice highly effective feedback approaches using the instrument
– Learn how to apply the instrument in organisational and individual development initiatives
– Gain a certificate of qualification to purchase and use the EQ-i 2.0®instrument

Program Resources include:
– The EQ Edge (3rd Ed.)
– EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360 Workbook
– EQ-i 2.0® Workplace Report

Why the EQ-i 2.0® Instrument?

Emotional intelligence is a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.

The EQ-i 2.0® instrument builds on the success and insights of the BarOn EQ-i® instrument by introducing an updated model of emotional intelligence.

It introduces some differences that stem from changes, based on extensive feedback, to assessment items, updated norms and rigorous reliability and validity studies.

The EQ-i 2.0® Model:

The EQ-i 2.0® and EQ-360™ instruments measure emotional intelligence (EI) and how it can impact people and the workplace. The 1-5-15 factor structure the EQ-i 2.0® features is one overarching EI score (Total EI), broken down into five composite scores which, in turn, are broken down into a total of 15 subscales.

Applications of Emotional Intelligence:

– Leadership development
– Selection
– Organisational development
– Executive coaching
– Team building
– Student development

While emotional intelligence is not the sole predictor of human performance and development potential, it is proven to be a key indicator in these areas. Emotional intelligence is not a static factor – to the contrary, one’s emotional intelligence changes over time and can be developed in targeted areas.

Tested and proven ways to master the behavioral mindset

Your success as a coach depends largely on identifying and recognizing both your sub-personalities and those of your client’s.

When you have a deeper understanding of how to identify and develop your sub-personalities, you are better positioned to quiet your mind and help your clients identify and understand hidden agendas. Understanding sub-personalities can help eliminate the saboteurs that can derail coaching results.

Most of us have sub-personalities that were created and developed to cope with specific situations in our lives. At this point in adulthood, they may no longer be useful or necessary. When your client’s see who might be running their lives, they can then make choices to become senior to their subs. Support your clients in becoming the CEO of their lives; this is a powerful tool that can positively transform your coaching relationships. Discover who is unconsciously lurking within and possibly sabotaging your client’s visions, dreams, and goals.

In this course, Dr. Cherie Carter-Scott, MCC will help you discover parts of yourself that may be operating in opposition to your intended goals. You will also gain the ability to help your clients discover their “secret subs” and align their energies toward their goals. Based on Dr. Cherie’s book, Become One: Claim the Driver’s Seat of Your Life, these case studies are individual, unique and profound.

Learning Objectives:

• Internal Voice Identification vs. Voice Management
• What is the mind dialogue?
• Discover three options to manage sub-personalities
• How to identify and describe your sub-personalities
• Evaluate the five stages to integrate sub-personalities
• An in-depth view into two sub-personalities

ICF Core Competencies:

• Provides ongoing support for and champions new behaviors and actions, including those involving risk-taking and fear of failure.
• Asks permission to coach client in sensitive, new areas
• Is present and flexible during the coaching process, dancing at the moment
• Accesses own intuition and trust one’s inner knowing—”goes with the gut.”
• Is open to not knowing and takes risks
• Sees many ways to work with the client and chooses at the moment what is most effective
• Uses humor effectively to create lightness and energy

In the workplace, which is increasingly 24/7 access due to social media and technology, anxiety is on the rise. Because of connectivity, it can be harder to escape these pressures without a clear-cut path being set.
As coaches we work with a wide variety of people in a vast realm of work place circumstances. Using the core competencies as your framework to help your clients with finding ways to disconnect and recharge so they can better arm themselves against workplace anxiety is a great skillset to have in your coaching toolbox.
Identifying the triggers of anxiety and finding a stopper together that they can call upon when needed takes time, repetition and commitment. Breaking any habit can be difficult for a client but setting a roadmap for success and accountability will lead to coaching success.
