Two 90-minute classes are held each week on Mondays and Thursdays. Each class is offered twice, at 2 pm or 8 pm (US-Eastern). You can attend whichever call works best for you.

There is NOT class on the following dates:

Event Description:

Coaching for Transformation (CFT) is a professional certification program with 140 training hours, 10 mentor hours, 40 practice coaching hours, business and marketing preparation, access to an online learning community, weekly online discussions, and oral and written assessments. You also work directly with a CFT certified coach of your choice for 6 hours (not included in the program cost).

This 9-month accredited coach training program (ACTP) is delivered via a virtual platform and is accessible for participants around the world.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

CFT is for people serious about doing life-changing work and those who want to make a difference in the world. You can use coaching to enhance your existing career or practice, or launch a business as a transformational coach.

While coaching skills are a natural extension of certain professions, such as therapy, management, or consulting, our students come from varied backgrounds—social justice, business, nonprofits, health care, education, ministry, law, and more.

Regardless of your field, your coaching skills will help people create a better future. You can use this program to become a professional coach or use your coaching skills to enhance your career.

CURRICULUM:

Coaching for Transformation goes beyond theories, principles, and models and works with clients on a deep level. You learn how to coach the whole person: the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

You’ll have weekly teachings, demonstrations, practice, and discussions that focus on real-life applications. Between sessions, you put the teachings into practice. As you discover your strengths, creativity, and core values, you develop the confidence to coach any client on any issue.

The course begins with Coaching Essentials, covering curiosity and empowering questions, listening and self-management. This first module includes an overview of the coach’s stand, requests and challenges, exploring cultural identity through writing, deeper and transformational agendas and acknowledging.

The second module covers basic skills. We explore the CFT model and principles, calling out the power, structuring a session and receiving feedback. We also cover professional ethics and multicultural awareness.

From this point, we begin looking at the Five Pathways to Alignment, starting with Exploring Needs and Values. This pathway includes what motivates clients, emotional awareness, transforming distress into light, values clarification, coaching the client’s strengths, and creating from values. Practice sessions allow for integration of the many ways to explore needs and values.

The second pathway to alignment, Experiencing the Moment, includes cultivating presence, wisdom of the body, developing intuition, naming what’s present, contemplative coaching and interrupting for connection.

There are eight classes that explore the third pathway, Envisioning the Future. Topics covered are envisioning the future, vision, vision boards, visualization, right brain visioning, communicating a compelling vision, metaphors and imagery, and soul purpose.

As you advance to the fourth pathway, the business aspects of coaching are introduced and additional multicultural awareness classes are taught. These classes are woven throughout the course.

The fourth pathway is Expanding the View. With this pathway, you help clients become more aware of their viewpoints, or the beliefs at the foundation of their lives and create from a more empowered way of seeing themselves.

The final pathway, Embracing the Shadow builds upon the previous pathways and includes seven classes that support coaches in helping clients reclaim the parts of themselves they have disowned.

The Strategy and Action module is about supporting clients in creating action plans to turn their dreams into reality. This module includes classes on strategic planning, goal setting, making decisions, and feedback.

The niche coaching module includes classes that focus on specific coaching specialties: leadership, organizations, relationships, community and social sectors, and soul and spirit.

The course completes with graduation and celebration.

Belma González, PCC has been providing assets-based, culturally aware coaching to nonprofit and social justice activists since 2004. She works with diverse, multi-generational clients on leadership enhancement, change management, work/life transitions, balance and fulfillment. Belma has coached participants of thirteen leadership development programs; all with an eye to strengthening the nonprofit sector and social justice movement. Belma is a co-founder of Prism Coaching, a group of coaches of color who consider the identification, understanding and use of cultural influences as assets.

Dewey Schott, CPCC, PCC coaches individuals who are committed to transformational social change. He has over 18 years of experience working in the social and cultural sectors specializing in capacity building and leadership development. In addition to teaching and coaching individual clients, he facilitates NAMAC Leadership Institute, New York Foundation for the Arts’ Emerging Leaders Boot Camp, and is a founding member of Coaching For Justice.

Event Description:

This unique offering at Omega Institute is open to all who identify as women. The certification course recognizes and celebrates women as catalysts for transforming themselves, their communities, and their world. While many coaching models simply focus on taking action, the CFT process helps women break through limiting beliefs, become aware of the wisdom in their bodies, identify their emotions, and understand underlying needs. From this grounded, centered place of deep awareness, women may then use their inner resourcefulness to choose actions that honor their values and aligns with deep transformation.

CFT begins with a weeklong intensive at Omega, where you start your professional training, get inspired, meet like-minded people, share meals together, and more—all while enjoying evening events, hiking trails, and other rejuvenating amenities in an intimate natural setting.

After your initial week of training (June 16-21), you stay connected with online teleclasses (Tuesdays – June 25, 2019 through March 31, 2020), discussions, and assignments, plus three additional weekends on campus: August 9-11, September 20-22, and October 25-27. Event Description:

Our most popular program, the ACTP, is a robust, all-inclusive training designed to develop the skills necessary to coach any client in any situation.  The format is 90% in person and 10% online.

It includes:
– Asynchronous online coach training (15 hrs)
– In-person intensive coach training (125 hrs)
– Mentor coaching (10.5 hrs) (mentor coaching is required to apply for any ICF credential)
– Exam with view to earning an ICF PCC credential (an exam is required to apply for any ICF credential)

This course is for those who want a complete experience of coach training. It teaches powerful coaching skills through a combination of lecturettes, drills and skill-building practice. There is also mentoring and feeback during practical coaching exercises as well as demonstrations of skills and competencies from master coaches.

The advanced modules teach the skills necessary to coaching high-level individuals and teams through basic human system change, while supporting effective leadership and strong interpersonal connections. The ICF framework, coupled with specific knowledge related to leadership and change creates an engagement approach built on empowerment. The coach develops strong presence and flexibility and the skills to support the unique issues related to professionals, business owners, managers and leaders.

Module 1: Learn the essence of the Coach Approach so that you can begin to apply it immediately. After you leave Module 1, you will have enough knowledge to go and run a coaching session.

Module 2: We human beings have emotions and those emotions impact our results – we create a different result if we rage at people rather than talk with them. We human beings have language and how we use it is critical to our success. We human beings also have bodies. We actually communicate more with our bodies than with our words yet we are largely unaware of the impact of our presence.

Module 3: The one thing all successful coaching approaches have in common is they trigger changes in the brain. That’s why it makes sense for you to know something about how this happens.

While the coach approach can help anyone better understand their current position and determine how they would like this to change, NLP gives you specific tools to make those changes happen. Neuroscience enhances both these approaches by providing a scientific evidence base for why and how these tools and interventions actually work.

Module 4: Major change happens at the level of identity, beliefs and values. However, many conventionally trained coaches find it challenging to operate at these levels. Nor are they alone: the majority of organisations are only able to talk about ‘winning hearts and minds’. Very few know how to actually do this.

In this Advanced Coaching module we show you how to blend the wisdom of the different approaches you have learnt on this programme so that you can actually engage the hearts and minds not just of individuals but also of teams and even organisations.

Emotional Intelligence: Key concepts of emotional intelligence; How emotional intelligence affects leadership; The Emotional Intelligence Competency Model; Assessment of emotional intelligence; Coaching the key skills of emotional intelligence; Model emotional intelligence programs and internal coaching structure guideline.

How to Use Assessments in Coaching: Learn how to use three assessment tools in coaching: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Step II Form Q; Spectrum CPI-260 Coaching Report; Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI); Auerbach Coaching Questionnaire; Your results for three complete interpretive results; Learn how to identify “blindspots” and recognize strengths; Assessment-based coaching development strategies; The ethical use of assessment tools.

Appreciative Inquiry and Coaching: How to develop appreciative inquiries focused on client’s strengths; Appreciative coaching and interviewing strategies; Outcome research; The five principles of appreciative inquiry; How to assist clients to design steps to achieve dreams.

Session 1: The program, suitable for those new to coaching as well as for experienced coaches, consists of three sessions of theory, discussion and extensive coaching practice. It includes a distance-learning component for participants to practice their skills, share concepts with their peers, and work with a qualified faculty/mentor coach.

It meets the ICF requirement for live interaction instruction on core competencies and ethical standards. Successful completion of the program earns the GISC / UWB Coach Certificate and qualifies graduates to apply for ICF certification.

The program will support the participant in:

Establishing a coaching practice

Adding coaching to their current business model

Integrating coaching as a success factor in their daily leadership

Utilizing coaching as an internal practitioner
