HSA - Happiness Studies Academy: Certificate in Happiness Studies (CiHS) - 02/11/2019

Event Start Date: Monday, February 11, 2019 – 8:00 AM

Event End Date: Monday, January 13, 2020 – 10:00 PM

Event Description:

The Certificate in Happiness Studies (CIHS) is a year-long online program that comprises two courses:

1. Introduction to Happiness Studies
2. Facilitating Happiness

The first course spans 26 weeks and includes 26 lectures and 13 webinars; the second also lasts 26 weeks and includes 14 lectures and 12 webinars. Lectures are pre-recorded so you can watch them at your convenience. Webinars are live, an opportunity for you to ask questions, but they are recorded so if you cannot attend the live event, you can always watch it later. Lectures and webinars are an hour long and are led entirely by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar.

Each week you will receive some homework—or homeplay as we like to call it—including guided meditations, visualization exercises, journaling activities, and more. The activities are designed to increase retention and assimilation of material, and most importantly, to help you become healthier and happier.

You should be prepared to invest at least three hours a week on all the tasks—including watching the lectures, participating in the webinars, and doing your homeplay.

The mission of the Happiness Studies Academy is to lead the happiness revolution, by educating leaders who are themselves dedicated to personal, interpersonal, and communal flourishing.

To realize our mission, we at HSA take a wholistic, interdisciplinary approach to teaching happiness—first in the way we define happiness, and second in the way we teach it. We define happiness as the experience of wholeperson wellbeing, or in short, the experience of wholebeing. The five elements essential to a life of wholebeing are:

Spiritual
Physical
Intellectual
Relational
Emotional

Taken together, these elements make up the acronym SPIRE, and indeed they inspire all of our programs—from our introductory lectures on happiness to the one-year Certificate in Happiness Studies.

To better understand, pursue, and attain wholebeing, it is not enough to explore each of the SPIRE elements through the lens of a single field—be it psychology or philosophy. Instead, we need to take an interdisciplinary approach, turn to psychology and philosophy, as well as to literature, history, economics, theology, biology and other disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach is aligned with our general wholistic approach—one that bridges rather than divides, unites rather than separates. We bridge and unite between:

Theory and practice
Reflection and action
Common sense and complexity
Ancient wisdom and modern research
The humanistic and the scientific
East and West
The rich content coupled with the unique way in which the content is taught, informs about the meaning and significance of happiness, as well as transforms and creates a better world.

Weekly 90-minute teleclasses on Tuesdays at 7-8:30 pm ET

Event Description:

Coaching for Transformation (CFT) is a professional certification program with 90 in-person and 50 online class hours, 10 mentor hours, 40 practice coaching hours, business and marketing preparation, access to an online learning community, weekly online discussions, and oral and written assessments. You also work directly with a CFT certified coach of your choice for 6 hours (not included in the program cost).

This unique offering at Omega Institute is open to all who identify as women. The certification course recognizes and celebrates women as catalysts for transforming themselves, their communities, and their world. While many coaching models simply focus on taking action, the CFT process helps women break through limiting beliefs, become aware of the wisdom in their bodies, identify their emotions, and understand underlying needs. From this grounded, centered place of deep awareness, women may then use their inner resourcefulness to choose actions that honor their values and aligns with deep transformation.

CFT begins with a weeklong intensive at Omega, where you start your professional training, get inspired, meet like-minded people, share meals together, and more—all while enjoying evening events, hiking trails, and other rejuvenating amenities in an intimate natural setting.

After your initial week of training (June 16-21), you stay connected with online teleclasses (Tuesdays – June 25, 2019 through March 31, 2020), discussions, and assignments, plus three additional weekends on campus: August 9-11, September 20-22, and October 25-27. Graduation date (online session) is Tuesday March 31, 2020.

CFT is an International Coach Federation Accredited Coach Training Program.

Who Should Attend:
CFT is for women serious about doing life-changing work and those who want to make a difference in the world. You can use coaching to enhance your existing career or practice, or launch a business as a transformational coach.

While coaching skills are a natural extension of certain professions, such as therapy, management, or consulting, our students come from varied backgrounds—social justice, business, nonprofits, health care, education, ministry, law, and more.

Overall Approach
The learning process is experiential and includes instruction, demonstrations, practice, feedback, and discussions. The teleclasses review and expand the topics. There is a series on creating your coaching business. Mentoring provides small group and individual support in learning the skills and approach. Peer coaching, working with clients, and your own CFT coach provides practice to integrate of the method.

Become an mBIT Coach

“Learn simple and powerful techniques to detect and overcome
issues when your client’s head, heart and gut brains are NOT aligned”

Why become a Certified mBIT Coach?

Do you ever have Clients with the following brain integration issues?
Internal conflict between their thoughts, feelings and actions
Repeatedly not acting upon or sabotaging their dreams, goals and plans
Doing unwanted behaviours or habits and don’t know why and have difficulty stopping
Challenges in making decisions or are unable to motivate themself to take action
Chronically experiencing disempowering emotional states such as frustration, depression, anger, anxiety, etc.
Chronic health issues, especially those to do with the heart or gut region

When your clients experience these in their life or behaviour, it’s time to empower them using the deeply integrative mBIT processes you’ll be trained in during this workshop… You will learn to repattern how our brains work together to support and enhance life success.

mBIT Certified Coaches continue to report that mBIT creates quicker and more lasting changes and is an elegant and powerful adjunct to their existing toolkits.

“As Relationship Coaches, we found that we are able
to be more effective in such a short timeframe using
the skills and techniques of mBraining. Our clients
have nothing but praise for mBIT and the eye-opening skills it teaches you”
EK & SK, Melb., Australia

“This is an important work! When so much of our
response to life is based on what our ‘head’ brain tells
us to do, it is exciting to see the research demonstrating the power and the importance of our heart and gut brains. Get all three aligned and your life changes!”
JR, Author and Educator, Sydney, Australia

Event Start Date: Wednesday, November 20, 2019 9:00 AM
Event End Date: Friday, November 22, 2019 5:00 PM

The Certification in Power Intelligence® seminar trains and certifies coaches, consultants, HR professionals, and anyone working with leaders to administer the Diamond Power Index®, a multi-rater and self-rater assessment that assists leaders in developing their effective use of power. The entire three-day training covers the background and research underlying the instrument, how to administer the test, how to interpret scores and reports, how to coach and train leaders and leadership teams, as well as marketing support for using it in organizations. Successful completion of the seminar will result in certification for using the assessment.

Module 1 is a day and a half introduction for those who want to learn how to coach and train leaders on their use of power, and work with issues related to power in organizations. It covers the background theory, addresses main behaviors related to power use and how to work with them, and presents methods for coaching and training. It does not include how to administer the assessment, interpret reports, and does not lead to certification in the assessment. If you are in attendance at Module 1, and decide you’d like to stay for the full certification, you can simply pay the difference and continue with that seminar, or attend one later in the year at another location. The schedule for each day is 9:00am-5:00pm.
