The Science of the Art of Coaching Programme is designed for executive coaches, practitioners or human resource/ talent leaders interested in applying knowledge from modern neuroscience and interpersonal biology to enhance coaching conversations and outcomes. It introduces participants to modern neuroscientific understandings about how the brain works; how energy is created and directed; what the emotional bases of motivation are: how an appreciation of the interpersonal neurobiology of the coaching encounter can be managed in pursuit of the client’s coaching goals; and what the neurobiological bases of stress are and how stress can be managed epigenetically through perceptual shifts and awareness. Over the ten months of the Programme it combines face-to-face teaching of knowledge and simulation training with case material webinars.

2. Facilitating Happiness

The first course spans 26 weeks and includes 26 lectures and 13 webinars; the second also lasts 26 weeks and includes 14 lectures and 12 webinars. The mission of the Happiness Studies Academy is to lead the happiness revolution, by educating leaders who are themselves dedicated to personal, interpersonal, and communal flourishing.

To realize our mission, we at HSA take a wholistic, interdisciplinary approach to teaching happiness—first in the way we define happiness, and second in the way we teach it. We define happiness as the experience of wholeperson wellbeing, or in short, the experience of wholebeing. The five elements essential to a life of wholebeing are:

Spiritual
Physical
Intellectual
Relational
Emotional

Taken together, these elements make up the acronym SPIRE, and indeed they inspire all of our programs—from our introductory lectures on happiness to the one-year Certificate in Happiness Studies.

To better understand, pursue, and attain wholebeing, it is not enough to explore each of the SPIRE elements through the lens of a single field—be it psychology or philosophy. Instead, we need to take an interdisciplinary approach, turn to psychology and philosophy, as well as to literature, history, economics, theology, biology and other disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach is aligned with our general wholistic approach—one that bridges rather than divides, unites rather than separates. We bridge and unite between:

Theory and practice
Reflection and action
Common sense and complexity
Ancient wisdom and modern research
The humanistic and the scientific
East and West
The rich content coupled with the unique way in which the content is taught, informs about the meaning and significance of happiness, as well as transforms and creates a better world.

Focusing on four ICF core competencies, this six-week, on-line course equips coaches with the core elements from Relational Presence (RP) training to increase their coaching effectiveness by expanding their capacity for presence.

In six, 90-minute interactive classes held over Zoom, coaches will learn a way of “being with” their clients that heightens trust and intimacy, enriches coaching presence, deepens active listening, and fine tunes direct communication.

Facilitators Tina Mertel and Pam Noda are PCC-level coaches and are certified in Relational Presence (also known as Speaking Circles®) Training. Experience has taught them that being in Relational Presence with clients is the ground of coaching wisdom. From there emerges a coach’s sense of what to say when and which skills/tools to apply. From there emerges a client’s inner knowing and call to action. This combination is what yields inspired coaching from the coach and inspired results for the client.

Coaches will leave this course with a fresh take on their way of “being with” clients that supports the ICF Core Competencies and prepared to use their newly expanded capacity for presence in full service of their clients.

Event Description:

Mindfulness meditation is now a cultural phenomenon. It may appear that teaching meditation is a simple thing—what is so complicated about sitting down and breathing?! However, 2,600 years of mindfulness-awareness practice has shown us that though the technique is simple, the results it produces are not. A skillful meditation teacher has knowledge of how to guide others as this ancient practice takes root. This program will help you to become that guide.

You can’t find this kind of training anywhere else online. It is a one-of-a-kind program, specifically constructed for those who want to offer meditation instruction to individuals and small groups as part of their professional offering. It was developed by Susan Piver, Buddhist teacher and founder of the Open Heart Project, and Jenna Hollenstein, a meditation guide and nutrition therapist. Here is what sets this training apart:

* It is live and in-person; no pre-recorded material for you to figure out on your own
* It is taught by deeply trained meditators with a combined 30 years of experience
* It is unapologetically spiritual–meditation is not presented as self-improvement but as a means to access wisdom, compassion, and confidence
* The curriculum is rooted in Buddhist wisdom; there is nothing new-agey about it
* It is crafted specifically for those who want to offer meditation instruction as part of their professional offering as yoga teachers, coaches, counselors, and so on
* Each student has the opportunity for a one-to-one consultation with Susan or Jenna
* Once the program is completed, you are not left on your own. There is an active alumni program that meets once a week for ongoing support

In our nine weeks together, we will really get to know each other. We will support you to navigate the obstacles and develop a strong personal practice. Through weekly talks, readings, group discussions, reading assignments, mentoring, and giving instruction to each other, you will learn to teach the meditation technique clearly, answer the most frequently asked questions with confidence, gain insight into the teacher-student relationship, and guide others to explore their potential with the support of mindfulness.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a certificate confirming that you have been trained by the Open Heart Project to teach mindfulness-awareness meditation in the Buddhist tradition.

Event Description:

IMPORTANT: to register visit: http://adventuresinwisdom.com/coaching-kids-icf/

When faced with challenges and disappointments, most kids don’t have the tools to handle them. As a result, they often get down on themselves or give up on themselves – developing belief systems that can hold them back for the rest of their lives. As coaches, we’ve seen the impact of childhood events on our adult clients.

Coaching isn’t just for grownups. It’s a game changer for our youth when they learn how to break through limiting beliefs and proactively create supportive beliefs to help them thrive. Life coaching can help kids learn how to use the power of their thoughts to handle the ups and downs of growing up and to develop a mindset for creating happiness, confidence, and success in life.

In this session coaches will learn about three mindset skills that all kids should learn before the age of 10 and how they can use stories and activities to coach kids (the skills work for grownup clients too!).

Wholebeing Institute: Positive Psychology Coaching: Mentorship

Event Start Date: Thursday, March 28, 2019 – 2:00 PM (ET)

This is a three-month program that begins with a live webinar event on March 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM (ET)

Event End Date: Friday, June 28, 2019 – 5:00 PM (ET)

Event Description:

The Positive Psychology Mentorship course is designed to further develop coaching fluency and confidence. During this three-month distance-learning program, students hone their positive psychology coaching skills with real clients, participate in a small mentoring circle of fellow student-coaches, and hold monthly one-on-one development sessions with Lynda Wallace or another member of WBI’s expert coaching faculty.

Coaching Real Clients
Students may have practiced a lot of positive psychology coaching with classmates. During the mentorship, they’ll apply those skills with real clients, working through full coaching engagements, observing their coaching style, stretching themselves, and gaining the fluency and confidence that comes from real-world experience, feedback, and support. If they don’t have coaching clients yet, we’ll give them plenty of ideas and support to help to find them.

Mentoring Circle
Throughout the mentorship, students will work closely with their mentoring circle, a small group of classmates. With the guidance of an experienced faculty mentor-coach, they’ll share experiences and observations from coaching sessions, give and receive support and feedback, tackle challenges with the support of faculty, and even help others from the course take the practical steps to establish thriving practices.

One-on-One Development Sessions
Each month of the mentorship, students will have a one-on-one development session with Lynda Wallace or another member of our expert coaching faculty, focusing entirely on that student’s individual development as a coach. In these practical sessions, we’ll review brief recordings from some of the coaching sessions, discuss what’s working that they can build on, tackle challenges they may be facing, talk through whatever questions come up, and work together to help the student become an even more confident, effective, and successful coach.

Event End Date: Sunday, March 31, 2019 – 1:00 PM (EST)

Event Description:

The Internal Family Systems therapy model is founded in the promotion of awareness of the ‘inner community’ of competing sub personalities that we all live with. These sub-personalities can prevent or enable movement forward. Using the IFS model to work with “parts” leads to, greater trust and intimacy in the coaching relationship, enhanced presence for the coach, and new self-understanding and resolution of roadblocks for the client. This model is adaptable to the non-therapeutic coaching process enabling greater Self-awareness and Self leadership. Coaching participants in this training through experiential practice will become familiar with the IFS model, experience awareness of their parts, map their own inner community of parts and practice and consider applications toward client coaching. This training has been approved through the International Coach Federation for 12 core educational credits.

In the increasingly online connected world we live in, many people are having trouble connecting to others in person. Social media allows you to connect and keep in touch with many people but what about in person, one on one connections that are necessary in business, family relationships, professional networking, job changes and personal relationships- including friendships? Telecommuters as well as people working in offices together, teenagers, adults and seniors all experience moments of loneliness, isolation and feelings of inadequacy often fueled by misconception. An individual’s perception is reality, unless they take control of the feelings and drive to the result they are longing for.

Generating and growing truly committed relationships that are mutually beneficial takes time and effort. Beyond avoiding FOMO, structuring actions that creatively achieves desired results in the ideal timeframe is challenging for many people. The perception that someone else is happier, more successful, better liked by the boss, more popular at school, etc. are all states of emotions clients can pull into focus and determine what courses of action are appropriate for them to feel and be their best selves. Not to mention what other people need from them in order to feel connected as well – there’s a give back component to these feelings that is often overlooked.

In this 6 CCE core competency course we examine vulnerability, transparency, and authenticity as it relates to healthy and stable relationship building.
Within this course we cover the following core competencies: Establishing Trust and Intimacy, Coaching Presence, Active Listening, Powerful Questioning, Direct Communication, Creating Awareness, Designing Actions, Planning & Goal Setting, Managing Progress and Accountability. Each module builds upon the previous and requires each person to personally ask and answer questions for active learning and application of the materials with their clients and themselves.

Improve your mastery of the ICF Core Competencies:

Meeting Ethical Guidelines and Professional Standards—
Establishing the Coaching Agreement—
Establishing Trust and Intimacy with the Client—
Coaching Presence—
Active Listening—
Powerful Questioning—
Direct Communication—
Creating Awareness—
Designing Actions—
Planning and Goal Setting—
Managing Progress and Accountability—
