The Science of the Art of Coaching Programme is designed for executive coaches, practitioners or human resource/ talent leaders interested in applying knowledge from modern neuroscience and interpersonal biology to enhance coaching conversations and outcomes. It introduces participants to modern neuroscientific understandings about how the brain works; how energy is created and directed; what the emotional bases of motivation are: how an appreciation of the interpersonal neurobiology of the coaching encounter can be managed in pursuit of the client’s coaching goals; and what the neurobiological bases of stress are and how stress can be managed epigenetically through perceptual shifts and awareness. Over the ten months of the Programme it combines face-to-face teaching of knowledge and simulation training with case material webinars.

The mission of the Happiness Studies Academy is to lead the happiness revolution, by educating leaders who are themselves dedicated to personal, interpersonal, and communal flourishing.

To realize our mission, we at HSA take a wholistic, interdisciplinary approach to teaching happiness—first in the way we define happiness, and second in the way we teach it. We define happiness as the experience of wholeperson wellbeing, or in short, the experience of wholebeing. The five elements essential to a life of wholebeing are:

Spiritual
Physical
Intellectual
Relational
Emotional

Taken together, these elements make up the acronym SPIRE, and indeed they inspire all of our programs—from our introductory lectures on happiness to the one-year Certificate in Happiness Studies.

To better understand, pursue, and attain wholebeing, it is not enough to explore each of the SPIRE elements through the lens of a single field—be it psychology or philosophy. Instead, we need to take an interdisciplinary approach, turn to psychology and philosophy, as well as to literature, history, economics, theology, biology and other disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach is aligned with our general wholistic approach—one that bridges rather than divides, unites rather than separates. We bridge and unite between:

Theory and practice
Reflection and action
Common sense and complexity
Ancient wisdom and modern research
The humanistic and the scientific
East and West
The rich content coupled with the unique way in which the content is taught, informs about the meaning and significance of happiness, as well as transforms and creates a better world.

Wholebeing Institute: Positive Psychology Coaching: Mentorship

Event Start Date: Thursday, March 28, 2019 – 2:00 PM (ET)

This is a three-month program that begins with a live webinar event on March 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM (ET)

Event End Date: Friday, June 28, 2019 – 5:00 PM (ET)

Event Description:

The Positive Psychology Mentorship course is designed to further develop coaching fluency and confidence. During this three-month distance-learning program, students hone their positive psychology coaching skills with real clients, participate in a small mentoring circle of fellow student-coaches, and hold monthly one-on-one development sessions with Lynda Wallace or another member of WBI’s expert coaching faculty.

Coaching Real Clients
Students may have practiced a lot of positive psychology coaching with classmates. During the mentorship, they’ll apply those skills with real clients, working through full coaching engagements, observing their coaching style, stretching themselves, and gaining the fluency and confidence that comes from real-world experience, feedback, and support. If they don’t have coaching clients yet, we’ll give them plenty of ideas and support to help to find them.

Mentoring Circle
Throughout the mentorship, students will work closely with their mentoring circle, a small group of classmates. With the guidance of an experienced faculty mentor-coach, they’ll share experiences and observations from coaching sessions, give and receive support and feedback, tackle challenges with the support of faculty, and even help others from the course take the practical steps to establish thriving practices.

One-on-One Development Sessions
Each month of the mentorship, students will have a one-on-one development session with Lynda Wallace or another member of our expert coaching faculty, focusing entirely on that student’s individual development as a coach. In these practical sessions, we’ll review brief recordings from some of the coaching sessions, discuss what’s working that they can build on, tackle challenges they may be facing, talk through whatever questions come up, and work together to help the student become an even more confident, effective, and successful coach.

Erickson has been an international leader in Coach Training since 1980. Over the years Erickson has been approached by numerous leaders looking for coaching techniques as an add-on to their already existing leadership skills within their workplace.

For this specific reason, Erickson has created the course Coaching Competencies for Leaders with an appreciation of the reality that leaders face today. This short, but impactful course, focuses on training fundamental coaching techniques applicable in both a one-on-one and team setting.

The course develops coaching competence as a leadership tool, resulting in confident and balanced leadership. By immediately applying the learned concepts with direct reports, peers and colleagues, the knowledge is transferred within the organization, and a coaching culture emerges.

Coaching Competencies for Leaders also allows leaders and their organizations to create a shift from a ‘command and control’ approach to an accountable coaching culture. Organizations and teams will discover and realize better communication, reductions in crises and conflict, meaningful employee engagement, more productive work performance and improved business results. The content and format deal with real cases and scenarios. Solution-Focused coaching is used as a fundamental tool to address these situations. Leaders from all levels of different organizations are welcome to participate in this program to deepen their leadership competence, share their knowledge, and grow with other exceptional leaders from around the globe.

“Taking Jille’s Core Connections class was like getting a Vitamin B12 shot into my coaching practice! Like all coaches, I’m dedicated to continuous improvement and learning. Since the ICF core competencies are at the very heart of what defines us as coaches, taking ten weeks to dive deeply into them seemed like a great way to spend my time and money on continued training. I was already familiar with Jille’s brilliance and positivity as a teacher, and I knew how valuable it would be to have access to her experience and wisdom in a small group.  It was so much fun to go through the competencies, exploring what each one meant, both philosophically and in practice. Because I already have my PCC credential, this exploration was about gaining personal mastery and insight, rather than about hitting the markers for an assessment. But if you do have an upcoming assessment- at any level- this would be a great way to prepare. The class is a true celebration of the competencies and a very thorough dive into them. You will invariably walk away appreciating their value and the value they help you deliver to your clients.”

Event Description:

This fully immersive program galvanizes you to create a reliable and sustainable practice of listening deeply. It promises to cultivate openness and awareness that will expand self-discovery and positively impact the way you interact with colleagues and clients.

Why Authentic Listening?

DEEP LISTENING is critical to coaching success, yet surveys reveal that many coaches seem confused about what it involves, or how to sustain it. And they don’t know what they don’t know!

COACHES: Open your mind, deepen your practice. Fully experience and learn this proven Listening Approach to transform your ability to receive your clients at a deep level. This is crucial for Creating Awareness!

COACH TRAINERS: Empower your students to transcend rote Active Listening training. Developing your students in the art of deep listening is a gift that will enable them to open possibilities with their clients.

Create a Reliable Listening Practice

Most coaches have been taught to “Listen beyond the words.” What does this even mean? What do coaches need to authentically connect with their client’s concerns? Consider these listening aspects:

• What is our intention? Where is our attention?
• How do we identify, understand and accept the impediments that undermine our listening?
• What do we practice, and how can we develop a reliable and sustainable habit?
• How do we train others to engage in deep listening?

This Certificate Program will accept 25 students, designed specifically for two groups:
— Experienced Coaches with 200 paid hours of coaching experience from at least 10 clients.
— Coach Trainers, program managers, and mentor-coaches involved in training and developing coaches.

Positivity can be contagious. Every situation has an upside and a downside; the yin and the yang, the good and the bad.
The ICF core competencies help to draw out positivity in ourselves as coaches in order to serve any client, but some people are predisposed to see the glass half-empty; they focus on past bad experiences rather than the positive things they learned along the way. They worry about the “what ifs” of situations they have no control over, rather than saying “this is what I CAN do” and focusing on the upside of a situation.
Much work has been done around the relationship of positive psychology and coaching. Increase your own awareness and fine tune your knowledge of core competencies around The Power of Positivity with this continuing coach education course from The Elevar Group designed specifically for credentialed coaches.
Each class module builds upon the previous one and requires each participant to coach and be coached and discuss their individual experiences with current and past coaching clients and scenarios.

Session 1: Coaching and Positive Psychology
Session 2: Glass Half Full
Session 3: Positively Planning

Impact your coaching toolbox in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies:

Meeting Ethical Guidelines and Professional Standards—
Establishing the Coaching Agreement—
Establishing Trust and Intimacy with the Client—
Coaching Presence—
Active Listening—
Powerful Questioning—
Direct Communication—
Creating Awareness—
Designing Actions—
Planning and Goal Setting—
Managing Progress and Accountability—

Event End Date: Friday, May 24, 2019 – 5:30 PM (British Summer Time)

Additional date for this event:

There is a follow-up day on the 20th June, followed by 3 webinars which are all part of this course.

Event Description:

A 3-day certification designed for qualified coaches with clients going through redundancy, career change, a career pivot or a career transition.

A structured interactive method to support clients one-to-one in their career choices.

A method that works with adults across all industries and sectors which can be repurposed to work effectively with young people.

How it works:

Day 1: We will explore how to contract with your client, how to set up for success and work through all the tools as a client and explore how they work.

Day 2: You will dive deep into the tools getting a practical insight into how to present them correctly and how to use them with clients.

Day 3 (two weeks later): You will be invited to present a career coaching tool of your choice, under observation and will be accredited in the method.

“This course is absolutely simple magic. It is completely logical and achieves really impressive client results. The Career Equation® is just so powerful. For experienced coaches who have their own style and techniques, this set of career tools is the perfect toolkit to overlay on top of your existing practice.” – Helen Sotheran, Learning & Organisational Development Lead at Dorset Council.

“I loved it. I think the concept for this is just brilliant. YCP captivated me even more than my original coaching training (which I also loved). There’s something about the practicality of the tools taught, they are so easy to remember and to use. I’ve been able to apply them across the wide range of conversations and create ‘aha!’ moments on a daily basis. In a way, the method is so obvious and that’s what makes it easy for both my clients and myself as a coach to grasp. If you want something immediately useful for pinpointing exactly where the adjustment to your clients’ career needs to be, then you will love this accreditation.”  – Ruth Barnes, Director and Head of Learning and People Development at Savills.
