Creating Connections in the City of Bridges!

JOIN US as we change up the traditional coaching conference to provide a fun opportunity to grow your coaching business, collaborate with other coaches, connect with valuable resources, and celebrate the coaching industry! In 2012, a group of coaches just like you started with no template, no design, nothing but the desire to create an event that would bring coaches together to form a community and strengthen the coaching industry. And it wasn’t your typical “talking head” conference that only leaves attendees disappointed. We put together our own model for a coaching conference that is presented by experts, provides attendees with structured opportunities to network, is chock full of practical information and has the right mixture of networking content and downtime. The Midwest Region Coaches Conference highlights state of the art resources, is sponsored by hand selected, top notch vendors and helps you fulfill your CCE requirements with the ability to earn at least 11 CCEs for attending.

Your conference registration gets you in to hear our dynamic keynote speaker, as well as an all-access pass to general and breakout sessions lead by top-of-their-field professionals. You also receive access to our special events, including the Thursday evening reception and fun networking events. Fuel up on Friday and Saturday before heading into a full day of conference activities, with a full breakfast (much better than donuts and coffee!!). Midday on Friday and Saturday you will recharge with a tasty lunch. And if that isn’t enough, strategically-placed snack breaks will keep you buzzing with goodies and conversation (but mostly caffeine!). Rub elbows with the best and the brightest in the coaching world, those who are taking our field in new and exciting directions! Create relationships and collaborations that will last a lifetime!

July 7, 2018, 10:00-2:00 pm ET
July 14, 2018, 10:00-2:00 pm ET

Event Description:

The Skill-Building Intensive offers students the opportunity to develop fluency and confidence in the steps, skills, and techniques used to help others successfully pursue goals for positive change in their life, work, health, and relationships. This course includes extensive demonstrations and practice sessions, in which students rotate the roles of coach, client, and observer. Together, we will work through each step of the CHANGE model for helping others (and ourselves) to create lasting, meaningful change.

We offer this course in two formats: online and on-site. Students pursuing WBI’s Positive Psychology Coaching Certification can choose either option to satisfy this part of their course requirements.

Online Option
➤ Spring Session: June 23, 30, July 7, 14, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm ET
➤ Fall Session: October 27, November 3, 10, 17, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm ET
The online option is held on four consecutive Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Eastern Time. Each day of the program, we alternate between coming together for demonstrations, separating into triads to practice the demonstrated skills, taking breaks for reflection and self-care, and repeating the sequence with different skills. We’ve designed the program to be highly energetic and varied, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to practice these great skills while interacting with different people in different ways throughout each class session.
Attendance requirement: Because all peer practice is integrated into the Saturday sessions, live online attendance is required for all four sessions.
The online option is available only to students who have completed Positive Psychology Coaching Fundamentals.

think in a different way.

Magic Box. Learn how you can use this tool in your sessions to invite your
clients to explore unconscious meaning of chosen symbols, and see a different

In this workshop, you will experience a demonstration using a Metaphor Magic
Box and then there will be a debrief and a conversation on how to use the
metaphors effectively. You will also be invited to use your Metaphor Magic Box
to explore one of your own topics. At the end of the session, each participant will
have a Metaphor Magic Box to take home.

Speaker: Gabriella Szilvasi

Event Description:

Our experience is that during coach specific trainings NLP is not a focus area, rather a piece of information. We want to increase the coaches’ awareness of the powerful tools of NLP so that they actively implement it to their everyday practice. Our mission is to teach effective, easy-to-use tools that can be used from the next day on. For this we aim to build up the skills, confidence and knowledge in the participants.

This 2-day course teaches NLP tools to participants who already work as coaches in the following areas and core competencies:

– how to establish rapport and intimacy on a conscious and unconscious level (using body language, eye-movements, communication type-specific wording) – how to use powerful questions using the Meta-model of NLP
– how to set goals that are achievable
– how to use reframing in coaching

Trust the Process: What really happens when we shift from rescuing clients to releasing responsibility? @ Life Vision and Enhancement Community of Practice Tickets
Jun 28 @ 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm

Description:

Most of us would deny we ever rescued a client. We faithfully recite the statement, “We believe our clients are resourceful and they have the answers inside of them.” However, when the stakes are high, we are tempted to step in and expand awareness for them. We think we are simply helping by sharing a story, providing a bit of information, or suggesting alternatives in hopes that our efforts wake people up to better outcomes or solutions. The reality is the opposite often happens. When we step in, we take away their opportunity to discern what is important, discover their path forward and develop self-efficacy and resiliency. This keeps them playing small in the world and limited to the information we imparted on them rather than them stumbling and learning from each experience. In addition, it greys the lines of coaching impacting our personal credibility as well as the validity of the entire field. We invite all those committed to assisting others in living out their preferred narratives. Come hear compelling stories and supporting data that reinforces the value of releasing responsibility and allowing clients to falter and still find their way to a greater story.

This webinar is tentatively approved for 1.00 CCEU in Core Competencies

The webinar will take place on June 28th, 2018 at 12:30pm (EST). register for this webinar session by using this Link: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/8126639265477655553?source=Calendar

Additional dates/times:
29 June 2018 – 09h00-16h00

Event Description:

Coaching culture vs. Business culture
Dr. Marc Kahn will explore the complexity of working systemically with multiple contracting parties in the systemic landscape of coaching in organisations.

Using the notion of a ‘coaching axis’, he will share how to manage this landscape (for all parties including the organisation) in a way that delivers maximum value for both the organisation and the individual being coached. He will also explore how to understand the interface and ethical tensions between coaching culture and business culture, and appreciate the complexity of delivering business coaching in view of company specific organisational cultures.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Kahn is the Global Head of Human Resources & Organisation Development for Investec. He is a psychologist (HPCSA & PBA), Chartered Business Coach (WABC), Certified Master Coach (IMCSA) and seasoned management consultant. His seminal book “Coaching on the Axis: Working with Complexity in Business and Executive Coaching” (2014) Karnac, is prescribed reading at various universities internationally. Marc was a founding member of COMENSA, and its first National Chair of Ethics. He also sat on the advisory body of The Worldwide Association of Business Coaches that establishes international standards of practice for the field in 2005 and 2006.

Positivity can be contagious. Every situation has an upside and a downside; the yin and the yang, the good and the bad.
The ICF core competencies help to draw out positivity in ourselves as coaches in order to serve any client, but some people are predisposed to see the glass half-empty; they focus on past bad experiences rather than the positive things they learned along the way. They worry about the “what ifs” of situations they have no control over, rather than saying “this is what I CAN do” and focusing on the upside of a situation.
Much work has been done around the relationship of positive psychology and coaching. Increase your own awareness and fine tune your knowledge of core competencies around The Power of Positivity with this continuing coach education course from The Elevar Group designed specifically for credentialed coaches.
Each class module builds upon the previous one and requires each participant to coach and be coached and discuss their individual experiences with current and past coaching clients and scenarios.

Session 1: Coaching and Positive Psychology
Session 2: Glass Half Full
Session 3: Positively Planning

Conflict Dynamics Profile® (CDP) Certification – Atlanta, GA @ Courtyard by Marriott Tickets
Jul 13 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Conflict Dynamics Profile® (CDP) Certification - Atlanta, GA @ Courtyard by Marriott | Atlanta | Georgia | United States

Event Date: Friday, July 13, 2018 – 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Event Description:

This one-day certification program is a great opportunity to develop expertise in the CDP while connecting with other practitioners. The shared experience brings seasoned and passionate conflict practitioners from all over the world to learn about the CDP’s development, interpretation, and applications.

The Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP), an assessment instrument measuring conflict behaviors, is an excellent resource to increase self-awareness and improve conflict management skills. The CDP is unlike any other assessment tool in that it focuses specifically on conflict behaviors, rather than styles. It helps individuals and teams understand how they respond to conflict, what triggers can escalate conflict, and how to manage conflict more effectively.

Two versions of the instrument—the CDP-Individual (CDP-I) and CDP-360— emphasize an action-oriented approach which leads to real improvement. A thorough Development Guide provides information and tips for coping with conflict and building strong interpersonal relationships.

The CDP-360 enables you to compare your own perceptions about how you behave during conflict with those of your colleagues. It provides a complete “conflict profile” with feedback from bosses, peers, and direct reports. The CDP-360 is particularly helpful for leaders, managers, and high-potential employees for whom conflict can be particularly challenging.

In addition to feedback on 15 scales, both versions of the CDP have a unique “hot buttons” section which identifies the emotional triggers that negatively impact relationships.
